
Geoffrey C. Morell was born April 1, 1926 and was reared in Opotiki, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. He left school in late 1941, and whilst farming in the far north of New Zealand, became part of the “New Zealand Home Guard” to defend the intended Japanese Invasion of New Zealand. Late in 1943 he joined the Royal New Zealand Navy, and then thereafter returned to farming life.
He became involved with numerous organizations, then was elected 1965 Ward Member of Franklin (then) County Council, was re-elected for six terms, and later became a Justice of the Peace.
Masonically, Papakura No. 56 in South Auckland, New Zealand is his Mother Lodge, where he was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. In 1982, Brother Morell emigrated to New South Wales and became a Doctor of Naturapathy. Later he was made Master of Lodge Collerenibri No. 595. Worshipful Brother Morell has been to Masonic Lodges in at least 25 Countries, and about 60 different Constitutions.
After several visits to the United States, he met his wife, Sally, at a Medical symposium and later moved to the District where he joined East Gate Lodge No. 34 in 1998, received the KCCH in 2003 and was coronated a 33° in 2007.
Worshipful Brother Morell is a Past Master of East Gate Lodge No. 34 and presently the Marshall of Pythagoras Lodge of Research and Grand Lodge Representative to the country of New Zealand.
